The CBSE has deferred upcoming Class 12 examinations for schools across the Middle East.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the postponement of the upcoming Class 12 board examinations for students residing in the Middle East. According to the latest official circular released on March 7, 2026, the exams scheduled between March 9, 2026, and March 11, 2026, have been deferred.

The decision impacts all CBSE-affiliated schools across several countries in the region, including the UAE, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The Board cited a “critical review of the current situation in parts of the Middle East” as the primary reason for this sudden schedule change.

Specifically, the examinations originally slated for Monday (March 9), Tuesday (March 10), and Wednesday (March 11) for Class XII stand cancelled for now. The CBSE has stated that new dates for these specific subjects will be announced at a later time.

What about exams from March 12 onwards?

The Board, under the guidance of Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, will conduct another review of the situation on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Appropriate decisions regarding the continuation or further postponement of examinations scheduled from March 12 onwards will be communicated subsequently.

All affected students and parents are strongly advised to remain in close contact with their respective school administrations and keep a close watch on official announcements to ensure they do not miss any critical updates.
